Poacher detained with tiger skin in Bagerhat
Members of Rapid Action Battalion and Forest Department have arrested a poacher along with a tiger skin in a drive in Sarankhola of Bagerhat on Tuesday.
The detainee was identified as Gaus Fakir, 45, son of late Rashid Fakir of Dakshin Southkhali of Sarankhola.
Md Belayet Hossain, divisional forest officer (DFO) of the Sundarbans East Division, said Gaus Fakir was arrested from Rayenda Bazar area of the upazila around 7pm.

Forest officers had been maintaining close contact with him in the guise of buyer for the last few days. At one stage, they reached a deal with Gaus for buying the tiger skin at a cost of Tk13 lakh, he added.
Later, the forest department and RAB conducted a joint drive and caught the poacher red handed from Rayenda Bazar.
"He will be produced before a court after filing a case under the Wildlife (Security and Conservation) Act," added the forest officer.
