Warner Bros sets ‘Wonka’ prequel for 2023 release
The movie “Wonka” will focus on Willy Wonka’s younger days
Warner Bros will be releasing a prequel to Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The movie "Wonka" will focus on Willy Wonka's younger days before having his confection empire, reports Deadline.
The movie has been in development for roughly four years.
David Heyman will be acting as the producer while Paul King will be directing the much anticipated movie. Simon Farnaby co-wrote the script.
The production team hopes to start the shooting in September and the casting for the movie is yet to be revealed.
Paramount released the original 1971 first Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory movie starring Gene Wilder in the title role.
Wonka is set for March 17, 2023 release.
