A court on Tuesday sentenced 7 people to death for killing a woman after raping her in Akkelpur upazila in 2016.
Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Dr ABM Mahmudul Haque delivered the verdict.
Public prosecutor of the Women and Child Abuse Tribunal Feroza Chowdhury represented the state while advocate Mostafizur Rahman,Rafiqul Islam and three others stood for the convicts.

The court also fined convicts Sohel and Ferdous Tk5 lakh each and others Tk1 lakh each.
The convicts are Sohel Talukdar, Afzal Hossain, Rahm alias Rahin, Ferdous Alam Sakhidar, Mojibar Rahman, Ruhul Amin and Azizar Rahman.
The convicts abducted Aroti Rani, a resident of a Dewra shelter centre and raped her on October 8, 2016.
The criminals fled leaving the victim in critical condition. Later, she was rushed to Adamdighi Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
Victim's husband, Ujjal Mahanta filed a case with Akkelpur Police Station accusing the seven people.
