Saifuddin to miss India tour
Multiple scans have confirmed that Saif's recovery will take time and thus he will be continuing on his rehab with BCB’s medical team.
Bangladesh allrounder Saifuddin will miss the T20I series against India because of his recurring back injury. It was confirmed by a media release from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Thursday.
Saif was included in the T20I squad for the upcoming series in India and was supposed to attend the national team's conditioning camp which starts from Friday.
In the media release, it was said that multiple scans have confirmed that his recovery will take time and thus he (Saif) will be continuing on his rehab with BCB's medical team.
Bangladesh National Team Physiotherapist Julian Calefato said: "Due to a reoccurring back injury Saif will be rested from the India tour this year giving him an opportunity to consolidate his recovery over a longer period of time. He now will also have the opportunity to spend more time strengthening his body and his situation will be reviewed by the medical team again in the upcoming weeks for further updates."
Farhad Reza is likely to replace Saif in the team for the series, which kicks off on November 3.
