Army Chief flies to USA Friday
During his visit, he will hold discussions at the Office of the Secretary of Defence for Policy South and Southeast Asia on regional defence and mutual military cooperation between the two countries
Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed will leave Dhaka for the United States (US) on Friday at the invitation of the US Chief of Army Staff.
During his visit, he will hold discussions at the Office of the Secretary of Defence for Policy South and Southeast Asia on regional defence and mutual military cooperation between the two countries, reads a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations Directorate.
He will also attend courtesy meetings and discussions with the US Army Chief of Staff, including inspections of various US military installations and training facilities. During the meeting, he will discuss in detail the strengthening of relations between the two countries' armies and mutual cooperation.
During his stay in the US, the Bangladesh Army Chief will also exchange views with the Military Advisors and Under Secretary Generals of the United Nations Peacekeeping Missions. The visit will play an important role in increasing the number of Bangladeshi members in UN peacekeeping missions, conducting various peacekeeping missions efficiently and increasing Bangladesh's representation at the policy-making level.
At the end of the visit, the army chief will return to the country on 12 February 2021.
