Land officers demand implementation of salary scale
The gazette to raise the pay scale was postponed in 2013; we want that suspension to be revoked
Bangladesh Land Officers' Welfare Association has demanded revocation of the suspended order on pay scale, and implementation of the salary scale of Union Land Officers and Deputy Assistant Officers that was originally announced.
The members put forth their demand during a press conference on Saturday at the Zahur Hossain Chowdhury Hall of the National Press Club.
Abul Kalam Azad stated in the written press briefing, "We have been making this demand for the last eight years. In 2010, the gazette (to raise the pay scale of land assistant officers) was published with the approval of the President and the Prime Minister."
"But this gazette was postponed again in 2013. We want that suspension to be revoked" he added.
The statement also said, "Field-level land officials should be promoted and posted quickly, the vacant posts should be filled. We are facing problems due to manpower crisis. Many are falling ill due to work pressure."
Land Assistant Officer (Sirajganj) Rezaur Rahman, Land Assistant Officer (Naogaon) Zakir Hossain and others were also present at the press conference.
