People over 40 and their families should be vaccinated: Health Minister
Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Sunday virtually inaugurated the immunisation drive
Health Minister Zahid Maleque MP today gave instructions to the concerned authorities to ensure that countrymen above the age of 40 and their families should be vaccinated.
The Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare confirmed the matter.
According to the previous decision, no ordinary citizen below the age of 55 who was not listed as a priority could register for vaccination.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Sunday virtually inaugurated the immunisation drive at 10am.
The vaccination campaign finally kick-started at 1,005 centres across the country, dispelling all speculations and uncertainty, aiming to vaccinate 35 lakh people in the first month.
However, the number of vaccine recipients on the first day across Bangladesh has been only 31,160 against the country's single-day capacity to jab 1.5 lakh people.
