Govt directs to reopen polytechnic institute dorms
The Ministry of Education has directed all polytechnic institutes to reopen their dormitories to ensure participation of all students in their forthcoming examinations.
The ministry came up with the direction on Wednesday night, saying that all the students must adopt safety measures during their stay at the dormitories.
A group of students of polytechnic institutes are scheduled to sit in examinations on 22 February.
It has been directed that some 60% students will be allowed to stay in the dormitories during the examinations.
A central monitoring team along with authorities of the institutions concerned will keep the hygiene situation under surveillance.
25 out of total 39 polytechnic institutes of the country have residential facilities for the students.
