NSU holds virtual discussion on International Mother Language Day
Marking the day, the authorities of the university organised various programmes
North South University (NSU) organised a virtual discussion on the International Mother Language Day 2021 on Sunday.
Dr Gour Gobinda Goswami, director for office of student affairs at the university delivered the introductory speech at the beginning of the programme, said a media statement.

The programme was started at the early hour of the day through placing floral wreaths at the NSU Shahid Minar to pay tribute to the martyrs of the great language movement.
The national flag was hoisted at 6am and kept at half-mast.
This virtual discussion session and cultural programme was organised to highlight the significance of the great language movement and to perpetuate the memory of the language movement of 1952 to the new generation.
MA Kashem, chairman of board of trustees of the university joined the programme as the chief guest.
Freedom Fighter Lion Benajir Ahmed, and Azim Uddin Ahmed, members board of trustees of the university were present as special guests.
Professor M Ismail Hossain, pro vice-chancellor of NSU was present as the guest of honor, while Dr Abdur Rob Khan, professor and dean, school of humanities and social sciences at NSU was present as the keynote speaker.
Professor Atiqul Islam, vice-chancellor of the university chaired the event.
Among others, Prof Dr Hasan Mahmud Reza, dean (acting), school of health and life sciences; Prof Dr Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, dean, school of business and economics; Prof Dr Javed Bari, dean, school of engineering & physical sciences, were present at the event.
