Bangladesh moves 8 notches up in English proficiency

Bangladesh has secured 63rd position in English Proficiency Index-2020 of Education First (EF).
Bangladesh scored 467 which on their scale means low proficiency. The country came in 12th out of 24 Asian countries.
In 2019, Bangladesh placed at 71st.
This year, The Netherlands has come in 1st place with a score of 652.
Denmark came in 2nd and Finland in 3rd with scores of 632 and 631 respectively.
On the other hand, Tajikistan came in last place with 381 score. Iraq came in 99th with a score of 383 and Oman in 98th with 398 points. All these countries are on the very low proficiency level.
It is considered the world's largest ranking of countries and regions by English skills. The results are based on test results of 2.2m adults in 100 countries & regions.
