On-time flights top priority: Biman MD
The Biman MD said on-time flights will bring back confidence of travelers, which will ultimately help the company generate revenue
Abu Saleh Mostafa Kamal, the newly appointed managing director of the national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines, has attached the highest priority to fixing flight schedules.
The main challenge is maintaining flight schedules, he said while addressing his first press meet held on the premises of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Monday. He joined the company last week.
He said on-time flights will bring back confidence of travelers, which will ultimately help the company generate revenue.
He is planning to make a business policy that will be implemented in three phases – short, medium and long.
The business plan will be to cope with the Covid-19 situation, he added.
About restoring salaries of employees that were slashed during the pandemic period, he said the decision will depend on the improvement of the company's financial health.
Kamal has joined Biman at a time when the country's aviation industry has been suffering from a severe cash crisis amid travel restrictions across the world.
