Shahadat's ban likely to be reduced: Akram
Akram Khan confirmed through a video message that they have accepted the apology of Shahadat Hossain considering the situation of his mother and he may as well play in the upcoming National Cricket League (NCL).
Pacer Shahadat Hossain's ban is set to be reduced after he asked for forgiveness mentioning the situation of his mother, who is suffering from cancer.
Akram Khan confirmed through a video message that they have accepted the apology of Shahadat Hossain considering the situation of his mother and he may as well play in the upcoming National Cricket League (NCL).
"He has personally called and sent a letter to the board asking to reduce his ban. His mother is suffering from cancer, and he wants to play for her. We have discussed with the directors and considered the matter," said Akram in the video message.

"I have also asked the board president and he is positive about reducing the ban. We're hoping that his ban will be reduced and he will be able to play in the upcoming NCL," he added.
Shahadat was banned for 5 years for assaulting a teammate during an NCL match in 2019. He has served one and half years of his ban so far but he is likely to get rid of that because of his cancer-affected mother.
In a recent interview, he said that he is facing a financial crisis for his mother's treatment. He spent all his money and he has been out of the game for nearly two years. He also had to sell his private car to finance his mother's treatment.
