After a while, a group of people led by Badal entered the Awami League office and asked Mayor Mirza to leave. When Iqbal interrupted, Badal strangled him with the intention of killing him and his men vandalised the pictures of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader and office furniture, the case statement added.
At that time, the miscreants used firearms and beat the leaders and activists, and detonated locally-made explosives and fired blank shots to disperse the crowd.
