Bangabandhu birth centenary observed at NMI
The National Maritime Institute (NMI) celebrated the 101st birth anniversary of the father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with due respect and National Children's Day in Chattogram.
The institute's principal Captain Faisal Azim hoisted the national flag and laid a wreath at Bangabandhu's portrait to mark his birth anniversary on Wednesday morning, said a press release.
A colourful procession participated by all the instructors, employees and trainees of the institution was brought out form the NMI campus in the morning. The procession visited the main strategic points at Soltgola in the port city.

Later discussions and dua mahfil were held. A special munajat prayed for the departed soul of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and for the welfare of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family.
