The batsmen need to be more responsible: Mahedi
"In the last match, our pacers bowled well. Especially, Taskin bowled with a lot of heart and with good pace. But it's the batsmen who have to complement the bowlers." Mahedi mentioned.
Mahedi Hasan, who made his debut in ODI cricket in the first match, showed a glimpse of his ability by hitting Mitchell Santner out of the park in the very second ball he faced. He bowled decently as well and skipper Tamim Iqbal was all praises for him after that match.
The all-rounder, ahead of the second ODI, said while speaking to the media, "Yes, it's definitely an occasion to cherish (ODI debut). But if the result had been positive, it would've given me more satisfaction. I think it (the result in the first match) was a one-off incident and we are a better team than that."
Mahedi opined that the batsmen now have to take responsibility. "In the last match, our pacers bowled well. Especially, Taskin bowled with a lot of heart and with good pace. But it's the batsmen who have to complement the bowlers. (Martin) Guptill took some chances and was aggressive. But I don't think the other batsmen were at ease. So our batsmen have to make sure they give the bowlers something to bowl at," Mahedi mentioned.
