Dhaka, Kuala Lumpur agree to open labour market soon
Minister of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Imran Ahmad and Malaysian Minister of Human Resources M Kulasegaran agreed to open the Malaysian labour market within a short time.
The ministers held a meeting in the Malaysian Houses of Parliament on Wednesday.
"Both the ministers also agreed on the workers' having only one medical examination before leaving Bangladesh for Malaysia," said a press release issued by the expatriates' welfare and overseas employment ministry.

It also mentioned that the demands of Bangladeshi workers who are already in Malaysia were also discussed.
Some of the other topics discussed in the meeting are - sending workers to Malaysia at the lowest cost, better communication between the recruitment agencies of the two countries, medical examination, financial security of the workers and sharing of data.
The ministers also decided to arrange a meeting of the joint working group on November 24 and 25 in Dhaka. Both the parties hoped to resume sending workers to Malaysia from Bangladesh after that meeting.
The Bangladeshi delegation included Secretary to the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Foreign Employment Md Selim Reza, Bangladesh High Commissioner Md Shahidul Haque and Additional Secretary Dr Ahmed Monirus Salehin.
