Independence Award giving ceremony rescheduled
The government today rescheduled the date of award giving ceremony of the highest state honour "Swadhinata Padak 2021" (Independence Award) for 11 April.
Earlier, 24 March was fixed for distributing the award.
Additional Secretary (Administration and Rules Division) of the Cabinet Division Sultan Ahmed told the media on Wednesday, reports Jago News.
"The Independence Award will be presented on 11 April (Sunday) in the capital's Osmani Memorial Auditorium. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be the chief guest at the event," he said.
The government picked nine renowned personalities and an organization for the highest state award "Swadhinata Padak 2021" (Independence Award) in recognition of their outstanding contributions to their respective fields.
Bangladesh honours individuals and institutions with the award every year ahead of Independence Day since 1977.
