Flag rally kicks off to celebrate Golden Jubilee of independence
A rally with 50 national flags has been set to encircle 64 districts of the country on the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence.
Each of the flags will be carried by a freedom fighter.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque inaugurated the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on Friday night, said a press release.

Freedom fighters' rallies and other programmes will be arranged in each district during the flag rally. After touring 64 districts, it will return to Dhaka on 16 December.
A route map of movement, location and departure from one district to another has been prepared for this rally.
After the inauguration, the Liberation War Affairs minister said, "Heroic freedom fighters are the greatest children of the nation. We have to ensure their respect and dignity. The government is working towards that goal."
Liberation War Affairs Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Dhaka Deputy Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam and Dhaka Superintendent of Police Mohammad Maruf Hossain Sardar were present at the inauguration programme.
