Folktale on video game: Shunno enthralls with latest music video
The love story of Behula and Lakhindar is told through an animated video designed like a game
The names "Behula" and "Lakhindar" show up on the screen, and underneath it reads, "Press any key to continue." It instantly gives viewers the impression of a vintage video game. A few seconds later, the background colour changes and the words Start,
Exit and Settings appear on the screen. The screen blacks out. The music video for the song 'Behula' begins, set to a video game format.
Popular band Shunno released an animated music video for their song "Behula" on March 20 from its official YouTube channel which has been creating buzz among netizens and the band's fans.
The song is based on Shiva Purana and the Manasamangal, a genre of Bangla medieval epics.
The music video fascinatingly tells a folktale. The love story of Behula and Lakhindar is the highlight of the video and the song.
The entire story is told as a video game where Behula, the protagonist, crosses different levels and faces difficulties to save her husband, Lakhindar.
In the video, Behula sails with her husband's body in a raft towards heaven to get back her husband's life from the gods.
In the process, she faces many dangers during her difficult journey through the rivers. After reaching heaven, she fights the snake goddess to get back her husband's life.
Antik Animated Studio made the animated video while it has been produced by Shaker Raza. The lyrics were penned by Tanvir Chowdhury and the music was composed by the band.
Shunno is trying to promote the stories of our country through their new album. Back in January, the band released another music video for the song 'Bibiya' which is a lullaby of a fisherman who is putting his daughter to sleep before he heads off to work on the ever so unpredictable sea.
Composed by the band, the song is written by Brishty Dessa.
The current line-up of the band features Emil on vocals, Michael on bass, Labib on drums, and Ishmam on guitar.
