Failure to follow health guidelines will increase risks
Fatalities from the disease also have increased due to rising infections, hospitals are already about to exceed their capacity
The decision to keep garment factories open during the lockdown is an administrative decision. But, if factories remain open, health guidelines must be strictly followed. Or else, there is a risk of further spread of infections. And the lockdown will not yield any benefit then.
If apparel factories are kept open, mask-wearing, hand washing and physical distancing should be strictly ensured. Any blunder in this regard will increase the risk of infection.
In addition to this, if any worker develops any symptom, they have to undergo Covid-19 test. If they test positive for the coronavirus, they must be isolated and quarantined.
The number of patients infected with the novel coronavirus is increasing every day. Fatalities from the disease also have increased due to rising infections. Hospitals are already about to exceed their capacity.
The coronavirus cannot be controlled just by increasing the number of beds at hospitals. For this, we have to prevent the disease and make arrangements so that people do not get infected.
The bottom line is that there is no substitute for hygiene.
Besides, Covid-dedicated hospitals, which were closed down, need to be reopened to tackle the current situation.
It is expected that the infection situation can be brought under control if the lockdown is implemented effectively this time. But, no laxity should be shown in following the health guidelines.
