Sugar and starch loaded meals and eating immediately before sleep should be avoided
Muslims often feel drowsy while fasting during Ramadan.
Dr Md Iqbal Hossain, Consultant of Internal Medicine, United Hospital provided some insights for this.
According to him, thirst makes one tired and being tired makes one drowsy. While fasting, drowsiness occurs during working hours because of decreased sugar level.
He suggested that Sehri and Iftar meals should include foods that helps sustain energy levels throughout the day.
He also suggested to properly chew every bite.
Sugar and starch loaded meals and eating immediately before sleep should be avoided, he said.
He emphasize to increase the water intake consciously.
