An emotional atmosphere prevailed in the neighbourhood as relatives burst into tears upon arrival of the vehicle with her corpse
Mosarat Jahan Munia, who was found dead inside a flat in the capital's Gulshan-2 area on Monday, has been laid to rest beside the graves of her parents in Cumilla.
She was buried in Tomchambridge graveyard following a Namaz-e-Janaza after Asr prayers today. Munia's father Shafiqur Rahman, and mother Setara Begum, a bank official, were also buried in this graveyard.
At 5.07pm, an ambulance from Dhaka arrived in front of her older sister's residence in Bagichagaon of the city.
An emotional atmosphere prevailed in the neighbourhood as relatives burst into tears upon arrival of the vehicle with her corpse.
After the Namaz-e-Janaza of Munia, relatives said every citizen of the country has a right to justice. They said, "Bashundhara Group Managing Director, Sayem Sobhan Anvir, compelled her to commit suicide," and demanded he not be spared on the strength of his power and money.
"We want justice for Munia's murder. We want Sayem Sobhan to be hanged," the lamenting relatives demanded.
Police recovered the hanging body of the 21 year old college girl from the Gulshan-2 neighbourhood on Monday evening.
Following her death, Munia's older sister Nusrat Jahan filed a case with Gulshan Police Station accusing the Bashundhara Group Managing Director of "abetment of suicide."
After a post-mortem at Dhaka Medical College, Munia's body was brought to Cumilla this afternoon after dealing with legal complications.
