Around 1.44 lakh absent on the first day of PEC, Ebtedayee exams
This year, a total of 29,03,638 students registered to appear at the PEC and Ebtedayee examinations
A total of 1,43,957 students were absent on the first day of the Primary Education Completion (PEC) and Ebtedayee Terminal Examinations 2019.
Of the absentees, 97,602 are Primary Education Completion (PEC) and 46,355 are Ebtedayee candidates.
Both PEC and Ebtedayee examinees took the English test which started at 10:30 am and ended at 1:00 pm. The rest of the exams will be held according to the schedule.
This year, a total of 29,03,638 students registered to appear at the PEC and Ebtedayee examinations.
Of them, as many as 25,53,267 students (11,81,300 boys, and 13,71,967 girls) will appear at the exams while 3,50,371 students (1,87,082 boys and 1,66,281 girls) will appear at Ebtedayee Terminal Examinations.
Earlier in the morning on Sunday, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Jakir Hossain visited Viqarunnisa Noon School and College at 10:35 am on Sunday.
He said the examinations were being held in a peaceful manner, adding, "Question leaks have not been reported this year. It is a good sign."
He also thanked the guardians and teachers for their contributions in holding the examination in a good environment.
Children with special needs were given an extra 30 minutes.
