Mohammad Abdur Rauf, director of GPH group and founding chairman of Crown Cement, died at a hospital in the capital at 1:45 pm on Tuesday. He was 67 years old.
Rauf has been running several businesses for the past few decades with great efficiency and reputation, GPH group said in a press release.
His contribution to the current state of GPH Group and Crown Cement is undeniable, it added.
He is the elder brother of Mohammad Jahangir Alam, chairman of GPH Group and Crown Cement Group.
Rauf was buried at his family graveyard in Munshiganj, followig his first funeral prayer at Gulshan Azad Mosque and second funeral prayer at Islampur.
He is survived by a son and three daughters.
