Quarantined returnee from India dies in Jashore
A man who was quarantined in Jashore after returning from India recently died on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Bimal Chandra, 56, a cancer patient who had returned from India on 8 May, reports Prothom Alo.
According to police and the health department, he visited India for cancer treatment and was institutionally quarantined at Balaka hotel upon his return. He died at the hotel.
Jashore Civil Surgeon Sheikh Abu Shahin said Bimal had returned with a Covid-19 negative certificate.
"His samples have been collected for Covid-19 testing," he added.
