‘365 Days’ to get two new sequels at Netflix
The controversial movie was the fourth most searched on Google globally in 2020
Controversial Polish movie "365 Days" will be returning to Netflix with not one but two sequels.
The original movie starred Michele Morrone as Massimo and Anna-Maria Sieklucka as Laura, reports Variety.
The sequel will reunite Massimo and Laura but their reunion will be hindered by Massimo's family ties and a mysterious man who enters Laura's life to win her heart and trust, at any cost
Original cast members Michele Morrone, Anna-Maria Sieklucka, Magdalena Lamparska and Otar Saralidze return for the sequels. Simone Susinna joins the cast, playing a new character, Nacho.
The original movie revolved around Massimo, a Sicilian gangster who kidnaps a saleswomen named Laura and demands her to fall in love with him within a year.
This sparked some backlash upon the film's initial release, with critics saying that it romanticized sexual assault, domestic violence and kidnapping — a petition for Netflix to remove the title for its streaming platform attracted over 95,000 signatures.
Despite the controversy, the movie was in the daily Top 10 list on Netflix in over 90 countries around the world and it was the fourth most searched for film on Google globally in 2020.
