Journalists and media activists staged protests in different districts across the country condemning the harassment and arrest of Prothom Alo's senior reporter Rozina Islam.

Media activists formed a human chain in front of the district press club in Pabna at noon protesting the assault on Rozina Islam. They also held a meeting at Zebi intersection in the town.

They announced programmes for the next three days, including the formation of a human chain on Wednesday at 11am and voluntary incarceration on Thursday.
Participants demanded those who were involved in the incident be brought to book upon a proper investigation into the matter. They warned of tougher programmes if the government failed to ensure justice over the incident.
Protesting the harassment and the false case against Rozina Islam, journalists in Noakhali staged a human chain in front of the district press club at 11am today. Various social and political leaders also expressed their solidarity with the programme.
Addressing the gathering, speakers demanded the withdrawal of the false case against Rozina Islam, abolition of the Digital Security Act and punishment of those who assaulted the Prothom Alo reporter.
Tangail Press Club also organised a human chain at 12pm today protesting the assault on Rozina Islam and the false case filed against her. Alongside demanding her unconditional release, they called on the government to punish those responsible for the incident upon a proper investigation.
Journalists of electronic and print media of Netrokona staged a human chain at Mokterpara road of the district Sadar at 11am protesting the arrest and harassment of Rozina Islam. They demanded exemplary punishment of those involved in the incident.
Local journalists of Satkhira also staged a human chain in protest of the arrest of Rozina Islam.
