Bangladesh requests India to send Covid vaccine as soon as possible

Bangladesh has requested India to send Covid-19 vaccine as soon as possible.
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on Tuesday made the request during a conversation with his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar over telephone, a press release said.
The Indian Foreign Minister said he was aware of Bangladesh's position, including the demand for a second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Dr Momen said the Indian foreign minister could request the United States to provide vaccines to Bangladesh.
Later, S Jaishankar said he would request the United States in this regard.

Momen also said he has already requested the United States to give the vaccine to Bangladesh as soon as possible as India has not been able to provide vaccine in time.
At that time, Momen mourned the victims of cyclone, Covid-19 in India. He also expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members of the deceased.
With a request to the United States to vaccinate Bangladesh, an application, signed by 1,014 professional expatriate Bangladeshi-Americans, has been sent to the White House.
The United States units of Bangabandhu Foundation and Freedom Fighters Council, Georgia State Senator Sheikh Rahman have also reportedly requested the White House to provide vaccines to Bangladesh.
