Tk336.14 crore budget approved for national parliament
The amount was 7.12% higher than the revised budget of the last fiscal year
The Parliament Secretariat Commission has approved a budget of Tk336.14 crore to spend on its development and non-development expenditures for the national parliament for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.
The amount was 7.12% higher than the revised budget of the last fiscal year when the allocation was Tk313,79,68,000.
The approval came at the 32nd meeting of the commission, chaired by National Parliament Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury in presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also a member of the commission.
Apart from this, the meeting also approved the projected budgets for 2022-23 and 2023-24 fiscal years with allocations of Tk359,67,00,000 and Tk348,85,00,000 respectively.
At the outset of the meeting, there was discussion about the implementation and progress of decisions taken at the 31st meeting of the commission.
Among others, Finance Minister AHM Mostafa Kamal, Law Minister Anisul Huq, GM Quader on behalf of the opposition party were also present at the meeting. Chief Whip of the parliament Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury also attended the meeting on special invitation.
