Shithi releases songs and performs at live shows regularly. She has been practising music since childhood.
She recalled, "My mother used to sing, I first learned how to sing from my mother. As I was born in Khustia, consequently, I had a connection with the mystic music of Lalon Shai. I also had lessons in Tagore songs."
"In the beginning I would practice Lalon songs more, but while growing up I got attracted to Tagore songs more- as its lyrical depth fascinated me a lot. However, I have become who I am today for both Tagore and Lalon songs."
"I never tried to run like the rabbit from the tale, in the music industry, I wanted to take it slow-learn, and grow."
Shithi is a versatile singer who has released different kinds of songs. She has plans to sing in other languages as well. She has been in touch with other singers from different South Asian countries and they have plans to work together in future.
Multi-talented Shithi hosts TV shows regularly while she also acts occasionally. "Shithi'r Otithi" (Shithi's Guest) is a talk show hosted by her which airs on Maasranga television channel on a regular basis since last year.
Talking about the TV show Shithi shared, "Last year during the lockdown we couldn't meet our friends and family, we were stuck at home. It was a frustrating time. Suddenly, the idea came across my mind: How could I connect with everybody from home?"
"I wanted to connect our audiences with the singers from West Bengal during the isolated time, from that though we started the show on Maasranga TV. There is an interesting story behind the name of the show. Popular musician Tahsan bhai is my favourite singer; one day I told him about the idea of the show. He then suggested the name to me, and I liked it a lot. The channel liked the name as well. The 50th episode of the show will air soon."
"So far many veteran and respected musicians of our country have graced my show as guests besides Indian singers. We hope to bring more guests in future."
She also appeared in dramas directed by Ashfaque Nipun. Previously, Shithi Saha acted in Humayun Ahmed dramas.
However, she doesn't plan to be in front of the camera as an actor frequently, as the singer wants to concentrate on music only.
"Acting is very difficult; it requires immense patience."
In 2012 she moved to New Zealand with her husband. She lived there for six years and spent a good time in the beautiful quiet country.
"Life was good in New Zealand but I didn't have many opportunities to perform there. I practiced harder to improve my vocal skills as much as I could at that time."
Currently, she is living in Bangladesh permanently and spending a busy time with music.
"Music is my only love, and I want to spend the rest of my life with music," she claimed.
