Police officials to get medals for duties in past 3 JS elections
Police will be conferred the honour for performing their duties properly during the past three parliament elections
The members of the Bangladesh Police, who had performed duties during the last three parliament elections, will receive medals and ribbons as recognition for their work.
The Public Security Division has made the announcement issuing a notification recently.
Police will be conferred the honour for performing their duties properly during the national election in 2008, 2014 and 2018, read the notification.
The medals and ribbons will be inscribed with "Parliamentary Election December 2008", "Parliamentary Election January 2014" and "Parliamentary Election December 2018."
Awami League won a landslide in the 2008 parliamentary election, held under the non-partisan caretaker government. The two other national polls were held with the AL in power. BNP boycotted 2014 polls giving AL an easy victory.
In 2018 polls, AL won more than two third majority defeating BNP in the electoral race largely questioned on its fairness.
