Russian cows get virtual reality glasses
Researchers have been monitoring whether this leads to improvement in milk output
A Russian farm is fitting its dairy cows with virtual-reality glasses in a bid to improve the quantity and quality of their milk output, according to a recent CNN report.
A news release published by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Moscow region has said that a farm in northwest Moscow is already testing the prototypes with positive results. Researchers are monitoring the effects on overall milk production.
The ministry has rationalized the new initiative by stressing the impact environmental conditions have on the quantity and quality of milk production in cows.

Based on this, a team of developers, with the help of veterinarians and consultants of dairy production, have come up with the oversized VR glasses for cows.
They have also adapted the device to account for the cows' different anatomy, according to the news release.
