Online agri product marketplace “Sadai” launched
The agriculture minister inaugurated the platform on Wednesday
A new online marketplace for agricultural products, Sadai, has been launched, where buyers can directly get products from farmers and entrepreneurs.
Agriculture Minister Md Abdur Razzaque inaugurated the online marketplace on Wednesday morning.
The minister said, "Marketing of agricultural products has always been an important issue. Due to the problem of marketing, farmers often do not get a fair price for their produce. This online marketplace is a solution to that problem."
The Department of Agricultural Marketing, which is managing, monitoring, and developing the app into a functional marketplace, said buyers would be able to purchase products grown in their districts through the app.
Buyers can also monitor the entire chain from production to delivery once they place an order.
The Department of Agricultural Marketing will also provide transport facilities. Sellers can arrange their transports too.
For payment, there is a cash-on-delivery option along with banking and mobile financial services.
However, the app does not have delivery time and charges specified.
Mohammad Yusuf, director-general of the Department of Agricultural Marketing, said, "Delivery charge has been fixed at 45 paisa per mile, but the time will be fixed by buyers and sellers together."
The app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
