Check before sharing contents on social media
Dhaka’s deputy commissioner made the call at a seminar at DC office on Thursday
The deputy commissioner of Dhaka at a seminar on Thursday urged the social media users to check any content before sharing, to avoid any untoward incident in the country.
The seminar – 'To examine true and false at first, then share on Internet' – was held at the deputy commissioner's office.
Abu Saleh Mohammed Ferdous Khan said, "Many contents were shared by the people consciously or subconsciously which created chaotic situation in the country in the past."
"So, it will be wise to examine any content before sharing. The social media users, particularly the youths, can play a vital role in this regard," he said.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Farzana Zaman presided over the seminar, while another Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Shahiduzzaman was present as a special guest.
Ramanada Sarker, additional Superintendent of Police, and M Jamal Hossain, assistant commissioner, among others, were present.
Earlier in the day, the district administration brought out a procession to mark the Digital Bangladesh Day 2019.
