Tirjak organizes 5-day theatre fest
Talk show, children’s art competition and storytelling will be held on the third day.
To commemorate its 46-year history, Chattogram's noted theatre troupe Tirjak Natyadal organized a 5-day theatre fest at Theatre Institute Chattogram (TIC). The fest would go on from 25 – 29 December. Among other festivities, every day the fest would stage a play at 7.00 in the evening.
In 25 December at 4:30 pm, the theatre fest would be inaugurated by famous theatre personalities Bivas Chakrabarti and Mamunur Rashid. The Inauguration ceremony would be chaired by Sociologist Dr Anupam Sen and the Minister of Information, Dr Hasan Mahmud would be the chief guest. Chattogram City Corporation Mayor A J M Nasir Uddin and Dr. Ahmad Kaikaus, senior secretary of The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources will also be present there as guests.
Aside from plays, the fest also includes a documentary show on the second day schedule. Talk show, children's art competition and storytelling will be held on the third day, lecture workshop and classical instrumental music show on the fourth day, and another documentary show on the last day of the workshop in the festival schedule. In addition, at 4:30 pm every day the fest would include musical theatre, mime plays, recitation and music show at the Muktamonch.
'Tirjak Honorary Award' and 'Tirjak Family Honorary Award' would be announced and awarded to many cultural personalities during the fest.
