Samaresh Majumdar's story on Bioscope's new web series
Celebrated actors Abul Hayat and Dilara Zaman are playing the roles of the elderly couple.
Web series "Utsober Raat" directed by Calcutta's Sayan Dasgupta is based on a story of the same name by popular writer Samaresh Majumdar. The series would be aired soon as a Bioscope original series. Produced by Alpha-I, the series was shot in Calcutta.
Producer Shahrier Shakil said that the series was made for Bioscope while adding, "Shamaresh Majumdar's stories are amazing. This story in particular talks of an elderly couple whose grandchildren arrange a renewal wedding for them on their 50th anniversary. That's where the story starts, and complications arise."
Celebrated actors Abul Hayat and Dilara Zaman are playing the roles of the elderly couple. Another notable addition to the cast is Syeda Ummay Tajzi, the first runner-up of 2008 Lux-Channel I Superstar. The Australian resident has recently come back to the country and worked in a few drama and web series. She expressed copious enthusiasm about "Utsober Raat".
"Shahrier Shakil told me about an interesting series when I was in Australia. After I returned to Bangladesh, he informed me about the story and script in detail. The team is amazing and it is great to work with them. I have played the part of Mahi – the eldest granddaughter of the elderly couple."
Shahrier Shakil also informed that the series is being edited at the moment. It will soon be aired.
