JnU to expel students involved in ragging
Jagannath University bans ragging on campus.
Jagannath University (JnU) has decided to expel students who are involved in ragging the newly admitted students of the 2019-20 academic session.
JnU took the decision at an emergency meeting on Thursday, January 2, and a notice was issued on this.
The registrar of JnU, Md Wahiduzzaman, told The Business Standard, "The university authority has always been cautious about untoward incidents occurring on campus. That is why a decision was made to prohibit ragging and to expel the students found participating in such activities."
Although the university has denied that any untoward incidents have taken place, at least five students were injured last year after clashes took place between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League activists.
