Kings to play Police in 2nd semifinal on Friday
The match will kick-off at 4pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here.
The Bangladesh Premier League Champions and Federation Cup Runners-up Bashundhara Kings will play new comers Bangladesh Police Football Club in the 2nd semifinal of the ongoing TVS 31st Federation Cup Football Tournament eyeing on their maiden title.
The match will kick-off at 4pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here.
The winners of the 2nd semifinal between Kings and Police will play final on Sunday at 4 pm against Rahmatganj MFS, which reached the final for the first time beating ten-time Fed Cup Champions Dhaka Mohammedan Ltd by 1-0 goal in the first semifinal Thursday afternoon.
Earlier, Kings reached in the semifinal eliminating MuktijoddhaSangsadKrira Chakra by 4-1 goals in the tie-breaker of the nail-biting 4thand last quarterfinal at the floodlit Bangabandhu National Stadium here last Tuesday.
The match was locked in a 1-1 position in the stipulated 90 minutes. Both teams failed to widen their margin in the extra session that forced the match towards the tie breaker.
The title aspirants Kings started their Federation Cup mission beating Brothers Union Club by 1-0 goal but conceded 0-2 goals defeat against Ctg Abahani Ltd.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Police Football Club reached semifinal eliminating Saif Sporting Club Limited by 3-1 goals in the third quarterfinal match.
Police conceded a 0-4 goals defeat against Dhaka Abahani Ltd. but they bounced back in the race beating Arambagh KS by 3-1 goals in the second match.
