Death threat to PM: Court asks police to investigate case against Tarique, 10 others

A Dhaka Court yesterday asked the Hatirjheel police station to investigate a case filed against BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and 10 others for allegedly issuing a death threat to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Jananetri Parishad President AB Siddique.
The court also asked the police to submit the investigation report on February 18.
Jananetri Parishad President AB Siddiqui had filed the case with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shattabrata Shikder's court on January 2.
Other accused in the case include BNP's Dhaka metropolitan north unit Vice Chairman Rabiul Awal Sohel, and Jamaat-e-Islami leaders Md Afzal Hossain, Md Mujibur Rahman, Md Abdul Karim Hafez Md Didarul Islam, Zakir Hossain, Md Abdul Halim, Md Saddam Hossain, Abdullah and Md Mojibur Rahman Sheku.
According to the case documents, the accused visited Siddiqui's office to issue a bomb threat unless BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, along with other leaders are not released from prison within the week.
They have been cited as Tarique's associates working on his order in the document.
