Afghnistan A beat Bangladesh A team by four wickets in the second One Day of the series. Bangladesh A scored 278 batting first and Afghanistan A chased down the target with four wickets and five balls remaining. Ibrahim Zadran was adjudged Man of the Match for his brilliant knock of 127 runs.
Afghan captain Nasir Jamal won the toss and opted to field first. Bangladesh A had a solid opening partnership as Imrul Kayes and Anamul Haque put together a 56 -run stand. After Anamul's dismissal, Imrul Kayes kept on going with skipper Mohammad Mithun before getting out on 40. Mithun and Naim Sheikh put up a 97-run partnership to set up Bangladesh A for a strong finish, as they were 195-2 after 35 overs. But with Naim's dismissal on 49 a collapse commenced, and the batsmen couldn't settle on the pitch as Bangladesh A stuttered to 278-9. Captain Mohammad Mithun top scored with 85, as Sabbir Rahman scored 35.
In reply, Afghanistan A lost their first wicket for only 28 as Shafiul Islam picked up Rahmunllah Gurbaz. But the Afghans continued to build small partnerships as Ibrahim Zadran held one hand. Before getting dismissed in the 47th over, Ibrahim scored 127 runs off 149 deliveries, as Afghanistan required 35 off 23 deliveries. But the hopes of Bangladesh A were diminished as Sharafuddin Ashraf played a blistering knock of 36 from 17 balls to take Afghanistan home with five balls to spare.
Two defeats in a row will be a concern for the Bangladesh management as nine of the eleven players fielded were players with national caps, with four of them being included in the upcoming Sri Lanka tour of the national side.
