The Apollo Hospitals Dhaka organised a forum for blood cancer survivors on Saturday.
Cancer patients who were cured through Autologous and Allogeneic Bone Marrow Transplant and Chemotherapy from the hospital shared their experiences at the event.
Dr Abu Jafar Mohammed Saleh, consultant and coordinator at the Department of Hematology and Stem Cell Transplant of Apollo Hospitals, presented the keynote paper.
Dr Arif Mahmud, senior general manager (medical services) of Apollo Hospitals, spoke on various services of the hospital, including hematology and stem cell transplant department.
Dr Abu Jafar Mohammed Saleh stated Apollo Hospitals Dhaka is the first private hospital to have introduced treatment of bone marrow transplant in the country.
It provides Myeloma, Lymphoma and Leukemia patients with bone marrow transplant treatment through the Autologous process, with a success rate of nearly 100 percent.
Among the private hospitals, Apollo Hospitals Dhaka is the only hospital that offers bone marrow transplant facilities at an affordable range compared to other countries of the world.
At the end of the seminar, Akhtar Jamil Ahmed, general manager of Business Development, Apollo Hospitals Dhaka, presented the vote of thanks. Eminent doctors and high officials from Apollo Hospitals Dhaka were also present during the event.
