Fire at a Sylhet-bound train
The train’s power car caught fire immediately after entering Brahmanbaria station at 8:38am
An inter-city Parabat Express train caught fire at Brahmanbaria Railway Station on Friday morning.
Assistant master of Brahmanbaria Railway Station Mainul Haque said, Sylhet-bound Parabat Express train left Kamalapur rail station at 6:20am. The train's power car caught fire immediately after entering Brahmanbaria station at 8:38am.
He also said, fire service officials arrived the spot and put the blaze under control after half an hour. No casualty was reported during the incident.
The station master also said, the train left Brahmanbaria for Sylhet without power car with a delay of two hours and 10 minutes at 10.48 am. The power car will be taken to Akhaura Railway Junction or Dhaka for repair.
The Chittagong-bound inter-city Mahanagar Probhati Express from Dhaka was stuck for half an hour at Bhairab station due to the fire incident, he further said.
