CC cameras to be used for 3 days during DCC election: EC
The Election Commission(EC) has directed returning officers to run the closed-circuit (CC) cameras at the institutions that have been selected as voting centres on three days. These will be the day before the election, the election day itself, and the day of mock voting.
Md Alamgir, senior secretary of EC confirmed this to the media after a meeting at the EC office in Agargaon on Tuesday afternoon.
"The centres without CC cameras will be guarded by the police to provide security like before," said Alamgir.
In response to a reporter's question, Alamgir said, "There is no chance of fraud in the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) system."
"Though we get several reports of the code of conduct being violated every day during this election campaign, nothing serious has been reported," he remarked.
