BGB deployed in Dhaka ahead of city polls

A total of 65 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh personnel (BGB) were deployed in Dhaka today, ahead of the city corporation elections scheduled for February 1.

Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, Public Relation Officer of BGB Shariful Islam said, BGB personnel started patrolling in Dhaka from the morning to avert any untoward incident.

They will be on duty till February 2, he added.
