Mustafizur-Miraz dropped for Test against Pakistan
The squad sees five changes from Bangladesh’s latest Test series against India as Shadman Islam, Imrul Kayes, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mustafizur Rahman and Mehidy Hasan Miraz have been left out.
Bangladesh have announced their 14-man squad ahead of their first Test against Pakistan at Rawalpindi, commencing on February 7.
This will be the second phase of the three-phased tour as Bangladesh had earlier played three T20Is at Lahore earlier in January.
The squad sees five changes from Bangladesh's latest Test series against India as Shadman Islam, Imrul Kayes, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mustafizur Rahman and Mehidy Hasan Miraz have been left out. Among them, Kayes is still suffering from a hamstring injury and Mushfiq opted to not tour Pakistan for security concerns.
Tamim Iqbal has returned to the side after he had decided not to take part in the India tour because of personal reasons. Along with Tamim, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Soumya Sarkar and Rubel Hossain have returned to the side.
Mominul Haque will continue to marshal the troops as this will be his second series as skipper after accepting the responsibility in the India tour.
Bangladesh will travel to Islamabad for the first Test on February 4 and the second Test of the series will be played at Karachi in early April.
