Biman digital boarding passes from 1 June for domestic passengers
The national flag carrier to introduce web check-in service for domestic flights from 1 June
Biman Bangladesh Airlines is going to launch online check-in for domestic flights from 1 June for the convenience of its passengers.
Apart from the digital boarding pass facility, travellers will now be able to select their preferred seats online, said an official press release issued on Monday.
Currently, passengers have to wait in line and face hurdles to get boarding passes. This development will reduce waiting time drastically.
To complete web check-in procedures, passengers have to visit Biman's website – www.biman-airlines.com – 24 to three hours before the departure time.
Passengers will have to collect a hard copy of the boarding pass from the designated desk at the concerned airport, showing a digital or printed copy of the web check-in receipt.
Travellers, however, will have to re-register if they board a return flight within 24 hours of the first journey.
Passengers are required to deposit their baggage at the airport's web check-in counter at least an hour before departure.
Regular check-in services at airports will also be available to passengers.
Biman, the national flag carrier, is also planning to introduce digital check-in service for international flights from 1 July, the release said.
Poor service with regular flight delays are the most common allegations passengers to and from Bangladesh level against Biman. The national airlines' authorities said they are steadily trying to improve their services.
