Bangladesh succumb to yet another innings defeat

Bangladesh have succumbed to their third consecutive innings defeat in away Tests as the Tigers were beaten by an inning & 44 runs by Pakistan at Rawalpindi. 

Less than a day away from the Bangladesh Under 19 side's historic triumph at the World Cup, the national side failed to deliver once again. Bangladesh had lost four wickets on the stroke of stumps on the third day as youngster Naseem Shah picked up a hat-trick. Bangladesh ended the day on 126-6, with skipper Mominul Haque and Liton Das at the crease. 

But on the penultimate day of the Test, the captain went back in the very first over. He was rapped on his pad by Shaheen Shah Afridi and the umpire obliged. Mominul reviewed but that was to no use as he had to go back on 41. 

Liton Das put up a brief stand with Rubel Hossain before Rubel was sent back by Mohammad Abbas. Liton tried to curtail the deficit but he was also gone soon when Yasir Shah struck him on the pads while attempting a sweep. Umpire Nigel Llong said not out but Pakistan reviewed. And replays showed that the ball was going to hit the stumps and Liton had to go back for 29. With Liton's dismissal, Bangladesh's hopes for avoiding an innings defeat also perished. 

Abu Jayed Chowdhury was the last to go as hr was caught at slip off Yasir to see Bangladesh bundled out for 168 and succumb to a defeat by an innings & 44 runs. 

This takes Pakistan into a 1-0 lead in the series. The second Test will be played in April at Karachi where Bangladesh will look to make a comeback.
