Dhaka Travel Mart 2020 postponed over Coronavirus
The Bangladesh Monitor has postponed the 17th edition of Dhaka Travel Mart due to increasing threats of a Coronavirus pandemic.
The international tourism fair was scheduled to begin in Dhaka from March 12, with nearly 100 participants from Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, UAE, Oman, India and host Bangladesh already have registering for it.
Kazi Wahidul Alam, editor of The Bangladesh Monitor, confirmed the postponement.
"In the 17 years of DTM, we never encountered such a situation that deterred us from holding the event on time. However, the present situation is beyond anybody's control. To us health and safety of our valued partners, participants, visitors from home and abroad are of topmost priority, hence we can't take any risk," he said.
A fresh date for holding the DTM-2020 will be announced soon, according to the organisers.
