Dengue patients found in areas mayor declared dengue-free
Six dengue patients from one of these areas have been found admitted to a hospital
Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sayeed Khokon claimed that 11 wards in the capital are free from dengue.
He gave the statement in a coordination meeting at the Health Ministry on Thursday.
According to the mayor, 11 wards, including wards 14, 18, 23, 29, 35, 42, 55 and 56, and Jigatola, Hazaribagh, Kamrangirchar, Dhaka College, New Market, Lalbagh, Nawabpur, Ganaktuli, Islambagh, Bangshal, English Road and East Jurain areas are still dengue free.
However, six patients from Bangshal area are at present admitted to National Medical Institute College Hospital on Johnson road.
Ayesha Akter, 28, and Tahmina Khatun, 18, are admitted in the female ward of the hospital while Abbas Uddin, 39, Taj Uddin, 45, Noman Hossain, 22, and Shahin Ali, 27, are admitted in the male ward.
Another patient named Hafiza, 61, who lived in Kamrangirchar, died in Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
