Bangladeshi killed in Iraq after being mistaken for IS man

Iraqi armed forces killed a Bangladeshi worker near the northern district of Makhmour in Iraq as they mistook his as an Islamic State (IS) militant.
A source familiar with the case said another Bangladeshi was injured and two others were arrested in the mistaken fire overnight on March 10 in the disputed Kurdish town, southeast of Mosul, BasNews, an Iraq based new agency, reported.
The source explained that the four Bangladeshi workers were walking towards Makhmour when the Iraqi soldiers mistook them for IS jihadists.

Makhmour Mayor confirmed that four Bangladeshi men were seen just outside the town and claimed that they are under custody now for investigations, declining to comment on the killed and injured ones.
The source that the Iraqi army then used mosques' speakers to warn people to stay in their homes for security reasons, "apparently as part of an attempt to justify the grave mistake".
